Reflecting on my Education at Tyburn
The Catholic education provided by Tyburn Academy allows its students to participate in community, faith, and academic excellence. Tyburn, being small, fosters a sense of familiarity between everyone involved in the community. The class sizes encourage students to not only participate in class, but also to support and grow with one another. The Catholic aspect of Tyburn is present in every class, presentation, and assembly. Students urge one another to learn and grow in faith. The classical courses offered at Tyburn, such as philosophy and Latin, give students a head start in many fields of academia. My Catholic Education at Tyburn Academy has allowed me to grow in many areas of life.
The community among the students at Tyburn academy is exceptionally welcoming, loving, and enjoyable. At Tyburn, you know everyone and are able to form bonds with others in your grade level but also throughout the whole school. Not all Tyburn students share the same faith, but the values Tyburn instills in them allows everyone to be respected and valued. The community events and fundraisers present opportunities for students to work together and have fun. The student life and community at Tyburn Academy is one of the most important parts of the education offered at Tyburn.
The classical education one receives at Tyburn prepares each student for their desired area of study. The logic and rhetoric courses teach students to think rationally and express their ideas and views in a formal setting. Debates of morality and theology are always encouraged so that students can not only accept the Catholic faith, but also understand and believe it. One can obtain a higher understanding of themselves and others through philosophy and theology classes. Tyburn also offers many opportunities for students interested in maths and sciences. Tyburn offers many college credit courses that a student can use to get ahead. The classical options given to Tyburn students prepare them for their futures.
The catholic environment the Tyburn students and staff create is a key part of the education and community of Tyburn. Prayer before classes, sports games, and tests allows students to build their faith and courage. In the case of Tyburn students and staff, it is “iron sharpens iron” concerning the catholic faith. Students are always allowed to go say a rosary in the chapel and are given times for Mass, Confession, and Adoration. These factors that Tyburn incorporates into classes and activities help students and staff grow in their faith and character.
My Catholic faith, love for learning, and sense of community have flourished at Tyburn Academy. The welcoming and loving atmosphere among the students at Tyburn academy makes each student feel at home and instills a sense of pride in their school. The various types of classes available at Tyburn allow students to explore their options and understand their strengths and weaknesses.
